What you need to know to get your feet ready to party this Christmas

Its official we are well and truly into the Christmas party season! Now ladies are your feet ready to party hard on the dance floor? If the answer is no, (hopefully) after reading this blog, they will be! Here are my top five tips on getting your feet ready to party.

Tip 1:
For me one of the most important things are a pair of comfy high heels. The key to comfy high heels is they have to fit the width of your foot correctly. There is no such thing as “wearing in high heels!” If you squeeze your feet into heels that are too narrow, it will cause pain, blisters, corns and callus.
Also make sure you pick the right heel height for you, if you feel that you have a forward lean from your lower back (sticking your bum out) and are unable to strut it in the heels, these are too high for you.

Tip 2:
Good old Scholl Party Feet pads for your high heels will add that extra cushion and comfort where needed. They provide different pads for heels, arches and or balls of feet. Worth checking out your local pharmacy for these.

Tip 3:
Stating the obvious if you have cracked heels, corns and or callus, see a podiatrist. You cannot beat a professional job! We have the solution! They will also educate you on what’s causing it and further advise on how best to prevent it. BINGO!

Tip 4:
It’s all about the nail polish! Blue chrome, blood red, smoky teal, Opaque are very fashionable at the moment. And we all love a bit of glitter / sparkle. Nail damage from polish is something I treat daily in our clinic. Use of a base coat, leaving your polish on for longer than 2 weeks and use of nail hydrating oil will prevent this from happening. Also give your toe nails a regular break from the polish to allow them to recover and breathe.

Tip 5:
Pamper your tired knackered party feet! This involves: luke warm water with fresh mint, soak your feet for fifteen minutes. Dry your feet well and then pretend you are playing the piano with your toes for five minutes and finally massage a moisturising foot cream into the heels, arch and tops of feet. This will leave your feet feeling invigorated, soothed and relaxed; all ready to party again.

So, don’t let sore feet get in the way of you having the time of your life!
